What is PPGI ?
Ppgi coils is a composite material made by pre treating the surface of metal substrates (such as galvanized steel plates, aluminum plates, etc.), coating multiple layers of organic coatings, and baking them at high temperatures. The core process includes substrate cleaning, chemical conversion film treatment, primer coating, topcoat coating, and curing baking, ultimately forming a product that combines anti-corrosion, decorative, and weather resistance. Color coated rolls are widely used in fields such as construction (such as roofs and wall panels), household appliances (refrigerators, washing machine shells), transportation (interior of train carriages), etc.
Characteristic analysis:
Substrate selection: Common substrates are galvanized steel plate (such as DC51D+Z), with a zinc layer providing cathodic protection and enhancing rust prevention capabilities;
Coating system: Typically, a dual coating structure of "primer+topcoat" is used. The primer focuses on adhesion and corrosion resistance, while the topcoat determines color and weather resistance;
Performance indicators: including T-bending performance (≥ 3T), salt spray resistance (over 500 hours), color difference (Δ E ≤ 1.5), etc;
Processing adaptability: Some products support rough processing such as stamping and bending, but attention should be paid to the influence of coating thickness (usually 20-25 μ m) on formability.
Industry standards: Domestic standards mainly follow GB/T 12754-2019 "Colored Coated Steel Plates and Strips", while international standards such as ASTM A755/A755M have grading requirements for coating weather resistance. When making a purchase, attention should be paid to the substrate material, coating brand (such as PPG, AkzoNobel), and environmental certification (such as ROHS).
Attention:
When storing, avoid stacking too high to cause indentation, and it is recommended that the humidity in the warehouse be ≤ 70%;
Cutting during construction requires the use of specialized tools to prevent coating peeling off;
