European Iron and Steel Industry Alliance: steel consumption decreased by 7.7% in the second quarter

Eurofer said on Thursday that apparent steel consumption in the second quarter fell by 7.7% from a year earlier, and fell by 1.6% in the first quarter.

It attributed the decline in steel consumption to the fall in EU manufacturing, reflecting weak exports and investment.
