According to the quarterly report of AdaroEnergy,QuarterlyActivitiesReport (FourthQuarterof2018), Malaysia imported 34 milliontons of coal in 2018, an increase of 25% over the previous year, making it thelargest coal importer in Southeast Asia. According to the National ElectricPower Company's forecast, Malaysia's coal imports may increase to 40 milliontons in 2020.
