South Korea H-beam production and sales improvement in the first 9 months

Since the import of H-beams in Korea has decreased since thebeginning of this year, the production, sales volume and export volume ofH-beams in Korea have increased year-on-year in the first nine months. Amongthem, the output was 2,540,800 tons, an increase of 0.9%; the sales volume was1,641,100 tons, an increase of 0.3%; the export volume was 8,938,200 tons, anincrease of 4.1%.

In September, South Korea's H-beam production was 237,300tons, down 21.5% from the previous month and down 17.2% year-on-year; salesvolume was 164,300 tons, down 13% from the previous month and down 24.4% fromthe same period last year. These are related to less workdays in September andKorean Thanksgiving holidays.

In September, the Korean H-beam market price was around880,000 won / ton (about 779.19 US dollars / ton).
