Japan's second-quarter crude steel production is expected to increase 0.9% year-on-year

Apr 19,2018

The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry predicted on April 6 that from April to June, Japan’s crude steel production will increase by 0.9% over the same period of last year.

Subsequently, the ministry stated that its forecast for Japan’s second-quarter crude steel production did not take into account the impact of the U.S. 232 measures, because it is not yet clear what effect the U.S. side will have on the global steel trade.

It is reported that the United States steel and aluminum tariffs temporarily waived trading partners such as Canada, Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea, and EU member states, and Japan was not included.
