NATO allies urge the United States not to suppress steel imports

NATO (Nato) European member states for the UnitedStates is expected to take action against steel imports, launched an unusuallobbying, arguing that this will damage the US allies.

Over the past two weeks, German and Dutch militaryofficials have reflected their concerns to James Mattis, the US Department ofDefense and its minister. Washington officials say Matisse has already conveyedtheir concerns.

The United States is expected to take repressivemeasures on the grounds of national security. US domestic steel producersbelieve that dumping in other countries undermines their ability to supply theUS military.
