India's new largest blast furnace successfully ignited

India Beijing steel and energy companies (JSPL) in Orissa Angul factory on Saturday's first blast ignition. This blast furnace is the first blast furnace of Angul plant, content accumulates 4554m3, allegedly be India is the biggest, annual production capacity of hot metal is 4 million tons.
When the new blast furnace is put into operation, the steelmaking capacity of Angul plant will be increased to 6 million tons, and the steel production capacity of JSPL in India will be increased to 9 million 100 thousand tons. Besides, it will have 2 million tons of capacity in addition to the Oman Shadeed plant in India. Angul plant also plans to put into operation an annual capacity of 2 million 500 thousand tons of oxygen converter, but because the ignition of the blast furnace is 2 months later than originally planned, the converter production will be affected as a result. In addition, the plant plans to launch a 1 million 400 thousand ton rod mill in the year, depending on the production of the blast furnace and converter.
Angul factory has a production capacity of 1 million 800 thousand tons of DRI equipment and a 250 ton electric furnace, and an annual production capacity of 1 million 600 thousand tons of slab continuous casting machine, an annual production capacity of 1 million 200 thousand tons of plate mill and an annual production capacity of 2 million 300 thousand tons of billet continuous casting machine.
At present, JSPL utilization capacity in India is only 67%, as of fiscal year 2016-17 in March, its crude steel output of 3 million 450 thousand tons, an increase of 8.7%, plans to increase crude steel production to 5 million tons in the current fiscal year.
